What is Mutt Strut?

Mutt Strut is our annual dog-friendly fundraiser that will benefit the animals at your LHS. This year, along with the 1-mile Fun Walk, we will also have a Mutt Strut 5K race! No matter which option you choose, you can still form a team with your friends, family and co-workers, or fundraise on your own, to be eligible for fundraising prizes! All proceeds, including registration, fundraising, etc. will go to the animals at LHS. Click here to register today!

Mutt Strut will be held rain or shine. We are unable to offer refunds. For the safety of your pet, retractable leashes will not be permitted at the event.

When is Mutt Strut? Where?

Mutt Strut Fun Walk and 5K will be held Saturday, June 9th at Keeneland.  Day-of registration will begin at 8am for both events. The Mutt Strut 5K will begin at 9am and the Fun Walk will begin shortly after. There will be local vendors before and after the run/walk so come early and stay late to support the businesses that support the animals at LHS!

What is the Mutt Strut 5k?

This year, in addition to our 1-mile Fun Walk, we are also offering a chip timed, competitive 5K race with top overall awards for both male and females.

Even if you choose to participate in the 5K you are still able to form or join a fundraising team or fundraise on your own. The Mutt Strut 5K will begin at 9am in front of Barn 2. Feel free to bring your leashed pup!

Packet pick-up for runners will be June 9th starting at 8am.

What is Lazy Mutt?

If you are unable to attend the event, or just don’t want to get out of bed quite so early, you can register as a Lazy Mutt. You are still able to join a team, fundraise, and are eligible for fundraising prizes.

**Any t-shirts or fundraising prizes received must be picked up in the LHS administration building at 1600 Old Frankfort Pike after June 9th, 2018.**

Can I bring my dog?

Yes!  You may bring your dog to both the Mutt Strut Fun Walk and 5K. Make sure your pet is current on all vaccinations and has an up-to-date city license if you live in Fayette Co. Please note: For the safety of your pet, retractable leashes will not be permitted at the event.

How much does it cost for children?

It is $20 for children aged 6-12 (5 and under free). Children will also receive a t-shirt if they are registered before the t-shirt deadline (May 24th at 12pm). Children also must be registered to receive any fundraising prizes. 

When will I receive my t-shirt and/or prizes?

Register by May 24th at 4pm to receive your free t-shirt! Prizes and t-shirts can be picked up at Pivot Brewing (1400 Delaware Ave) on Wednesday, June 6th from 4-7pm or Thursday, June 7th from 4-8pm. Day of event pick-up will also be available.

How do I register my entire team?

The first step is to register yourself for the Mutt Strut.

Once you have registered for either the Fun Walk or 5K you will be given a link to your Fundraising Center.  Inside your Fundraising Center you can “Create a Team” or “Join a Team” that has already been created.  If you create a team, then others can join your team on the “Join a Team” page or you can email them an invitation link.

How many people per team?

As many people as you would like! It’s only $25/person until 12pm on June 8th then it will be $30/person on June 9th at Mutt Strut.

How do you fundraise for Mutt Strut?

You can fundraise through this website! Once registered, you will receive an email with your fundraising information including a link to your Fundraising Center and your Personal Fundraising Page. Then all you have to do is share your fundraising page with friends and family.
